19th annual function of “WAWA” held at Gomal Medical College

D I KHAN: Annual function of Wana Welfare Association (WAWA) was held at Gomal Medical College Dera Ismail Khan, in which students received scholarships and awards.

The honor of “Shamla War of the Year” was won by Mohammad Waqas, a student of Hassan Abdal Cadet College from Wana. He had secured 1085 marks out of 1100 in F.SC from the Federal Board.

Commissioner Dera Ismail Khan Division Amir Afaq was the chief guest of the ceremony, while

RPO Dera Ismail Khan Saleem Marwat, IGP Gilgit-Baltistan Mohammad Saeed Wazir and Deputy Customs Collector Shams Ur Rehman Wazir, President WAWA Rahmat Ullah and General Secretary Jalal Wazir, tribal elders were present on the occasion.

Wana Welfare Association (WAWA) President Rahmatullah Wazir welcomed the guests in his opening remarks.

On this occasion RPO Dera Ismail Khan Saleem Marwat said, he came to know about the achievements of “WAWA” who have continuously worked hard to secure the future of the children of their area.

“I am proud to be involved in such a program” he added.

IGP Gilgit-Baltistan Muhammad Saeed Wazir said that education is the greatest strength if you people want to move forward, you have to get quality education.

Without knowledge and education, life is incomplete and very complicated. In order to keep up with the nations, it is necessary to ensure the acquisition of knowledge and education. Dreaming of development without education is a crude illusion.

“,WAWA” distributed scholarships and awards to 100 students, including medical, engineering, and BS students.

Scholarships and awards were distributed among the students by Commissioner Dera Amir Afaq, RPO Dera Ismail Khan Saleem Marwat, Chairman of Wana Tehsil Muhammad Saleh Wazir belonging to JUI, and Deputy Customs Collector Shams Ur Rehman Wazir.

It should be noted that “WAWA” has been serving in education, agriculture, forestry and health sectors from the past 19 years.

Chief guest of the event, Commissioner Dera Ismail Khan Amir Afaq said that I am proud of an exemplary organization like “WAWA”. The nation needs such organizations, it is necessary for all of us to take the lead in serving such organizations.
