ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Police arrested 22 outlaws including drug peddlers during its crackdown against criminals in various areas of the federal capital and recovered narcotics, liquor and weapons from their possession, a police spokesman on Sunday.
Following directions of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Muhammad Aami r Zulfqar Khan, Deputy Inspector General of Police (Operations) Waqar Ud Din Syed issued directions to all zonal officers for renewed efforts against those involved in anti-social activities.

Secretariat police recovered 150 gram hashish from a drug peddler Muhammad Ali while Bhara Kahu police has arrested three peddlers namely Waleed Raza, Muhammad Ilyas and Naveed Arif and recovered 400 gram heroine.
Moreover, Bani Gala police has arrested two bootleggers Muhammad Nadeem and Naeem and recovered six bottles liquor while Margalla police has recovered one bottle liquor from Gustasab Hussain.
Karachi company police arrested a drug seller namely Danish Anwar and recovered 1250 gram hashish while police also recovered one pistol from Farhat Ullah. Golra police has recovered 230 gram heroine from drug peddler Qasim.
Tarnol police arrested two culprits namely Kamran and Muhammad Ashraf involved in bootlegging and recovered four bottles liqour while CIA police recovered two pistols with ammunition from Dilawar Hussain and Awais khan. Noon police has recovered one pistol from a culprit Adnan while Shehzad Town and Koral police has arrested three culprits namely Abbas, Ghulam Hussain and Zahid and recovered 150 gram hashish, 210 gram heroine and one 30 bore pistol.
Lohi Bher police has arrested two culprits namely Shehzad Salim and Zain Ali and recovered one 30 bore pistol with ammunition and 320 gram hashish. During special campaign against professional beggars in Capital, police has also arrested 13 beggars from different areas.
Separate cases against all detainees were registered at concerned police stations and further investigation is underway from them.
DIG (Operations) Islamabad Waqar Uddin Syed has said that these social evils would be curbed and those backing those drug peddlers and professional beggars would be dealt with iron hand. He further emphasized that this campaign would continue till elimination of anti-social elements.
