2nd Round of talks on Kartarpur Corridor to take place tomorrow at Wagah, Lahore

ISLAMABAD: Foreign Office Spokesperson Dr Mohammad Faisal on Saturday confirmed that Pakistan and India are meeting at Wagah tomorrow (Sunday) to discuss the Kartarpur Corridor.

According to Dr Faisal, the meeting will be held at 9:30 am.

At the follow-up second meeting, Pakistan and India will discuss the draft agreement to finalize modalities and operationalization of the Kartarpur corridor, connecting Darbar Sahib in Kartarpur in Narowal district with Dera Baba Nanak shrine in Gurdaspur district in India.

The operationalization of the corridor will facilitate visa-free movement of Sikh pilgrims, who will have to visit Darbar Sahib simply on permits to be issued on the spot.According to the Indian median, newly appointed Pakistan High Commissioner to India Mueenul Haq will not take part in the second meeting of the Kartarpur corridor.T

he first round of talks on the Kartarpur corridor was held on March 14 on the Indian side of the Attari-Wagah border.The Kartarpur Sahib is of immense importance to the Sikh as it was set up by Sikh faith founder Guru Nanak Dev in 1522.(RP)
