ISLAMABAD: Third wave of COVID-19 took worst turn as during last 24 hours Pakistan reported 3,495 new cases the highest in three months.
The deadly virus claimed 61 more lives round the country besides 3,495 people were tested positive to killer disease.
During last 24 hours 61 new deaths were reported to COVID-19 and 3,495 more people were tested positive to the virus round the Pakistan Thursday.
Nationwide infections on Thursday surged to new high during last three months as 3,495 were tested to coronavirus epidemic besides 61 more deaths were confirmed. With 3,495 new infections reported in the country that took the toll to 615,810 cases and with 58 new deaths the toll of fatalities jumped to 13,717.
According to the latest figures displayed on National Coronavirus Dashboard of the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC), the NCOC confirmed the death of 61 more people during last 24 hours besides reported that 3,495 persons tested positive for COVID-19.
Sindh with 262,207 overall COVID-19 cases remains the worst-hit province by the pandemic in terms of cases followed by Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan. Punjab has overtaken Sindh in most number of casualties.
So far across the country 262,207 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Sindh, 191,186 in Punjab 77,443 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 49,476 in Islamabad, 19,269 in Balochistan, 11,264 in Azad Kashmir and 4,965 in Gilgit-Baltistan.
Nationwide tally of fatalities remains 13,717 out of that 5,896 individuals have lost their lives to the epidemic in Punjab 4,469 in Sindh, 2,188 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 531 in Islamabad, 328 in Azad Kashmir, 202 in Balochistan, and 103 in Gilgit Baltistan.
According to reports issued by NCOC, Pakistan has so far conducted 9,648,242 coronavirus tests and 44,377 in the last 24 hours. 577,501 coronavirus patients have recovered in the country whereas 2,062 patients are in critical condition.
