ISLAMABAD: Punjab Seed Council has approved 41 new seed varieties of different agriculture commodities.
Punjab Seed Council in its 51th annual meeting at Agriculture house, Lahore approved these new seed varieties of pulses, rice, turmeric, palm, beer, pomegranate, Maize, Barley and Potato.

Punjab agriculture department in a press statement vowed the provincial government wants to bring green revolution in the province. It said the new seed varieties would help achieve this objective.
This meeting was chaired by the Minister of Agriculture, Punjab Malik Nauman Ahmad Langial.
It was decided that provincial government will encourage public and private seed formation for high- yield and low disease rate.
