ISLAMABAD: Cheques worth Rs 5 million were distributed among youth applied under ‘Kamyab Jawan Program’ while Government has allocated Rs 100 billion for the program.
Prime Minister Imran Khan distributed cheques among the successful applicants under ‘Kamyab Jawan Program’ in a well-attended ceremony held here on Friday.
Addressing the ceremony, the premier congratulated those who have received cheques saying, “I wish cheques should be distributed on merit”.
More than 190,000 women have applied for the loan under ‘Kamyab Jawan Program’, the prime minister said, adding that it is the duty of the government to provide business opportunities to the people and remove hurdles from their businesses.
He said, the country’s youth have pinned their hopes with the ‘Kamyab Jawan Program’.
The Pakistanis living abroad have made strides in every field, the PM said.
During the ceremony, cheques valuing up to Rs5 million were distributed amongst the youth, while Rs100 billion have been allocated in the first phase of ‘Kamyab Jawan Program’.
Earlier, in a statement, Special Assistant on Youth Affairs Usman Dar said ‘Kamyab Jawan Programme’ is turning into a reality and is a fulfillment of the promise made by the Prime Minister with the youth.
Usman Dar vowed to economically empower the youth, saying that under the program, hundreds of thousands of the youth have expressed the desire to start their own businesses. He said this program has set a record of popularity in the youth.
