Administration converted LGH into patients-lover hospital: Prof Al-Fareed

LAHORE: Administration has been converted the Lahore General Hospital (LGH) converted it into patients lover hospital, in line with vision of the Prime Minister Imran Khan and Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar.

People will be provided better healthcare facilities to the best of their satisfaction, said Prof. Al-Fareed Zafar, Principal PGMI/LGH, while briefing about the performance and services rendered by the hospital during previous year.

MS Dr. Mahmood Salahuddin, Director Emergency Dr. Rana M. Shafiq and other administrator officers were also present on this occasion.

He said that 22,94,793 patients arrived in emergency and outdoor last year. He said that people and government employees were benefitted from evening outdoor shift at LGH.

He said that on the direction of the Government of the Punjab and Health Minister Dr. Yasmeen Rashid the LGH is providing treatment and diagnostic facilities to the patients without purchee fee.

Prof Al-Fareed Zafar said that PGMI Punjab is only attached department of LGH in the country where doctors come from all provinces of country including abroad, Azad Jammu and Kashmir for specialization and students are equipped with the latest research being done in the field of medicine in the world so that these students could treat patients in a perfect manner. He further said that the students of the institute are imparting their duties in local as well as international hospitals and teaching institutes.

Talking about this annual report, the Principal PGMI/LGH said that this hospital has the honor of delivering therapeutic facilities to a record number of patients, which are a reflection of the vision given by Government of the Punjab and Health Department. He said that besides patients their relatives are also provided rest and Panahgaah facilities.

He said that diagnostic facilities are also provided to millions of outdoor patients while doctors and medical staff have performed brilliantly in the year 2019. He expressed hoped that Insha Allah would show better performance than last year and 2020. Medical facilities will be continued at this historic hospital for discriminating citizens.

Prof. Al-Freed Zafar briefed about the annual report of Lahore General Hospital that 86,278 patients were admitted in Indoor department, 1397315 outpatients were treated last year while 897478 persons were taken to the hospital in emergency. In this year, 37299 persons have undergone minor operations in emergency while 38324 persons were given major in the same year. Similarly, 22977 MRIs, 18762 dialysis, 6049 Gastroscopy and 78777 ECGs were performed at General Hospital and 82376 CT Scan were undertaken.
