ISLAMABAD: A 140-member delegation of Sikh pilgrims, that included businessmen and investors living in the UK, met Chairman PBIT Sardar Tanveer Ilyas Khan and discussed opportunities of investment in tourism in Pakistan specially Sikh religious tourism.
The Sikh leaders, led by Sardar Ranjit Singh, described the opening of the Kartarpur corridor by Prime Minister Imran Khan as a great step for the Sikhs. He termed the site much better than their expectations.
Sardar Ranjit Singh said that the way Pakistanis are showering love and affection to Sikh religious tourism, especially Sardar Tanveer Ilyas Khan and his company Centaurus, Pakistan will surely become the best place for tourism. “I have been here three times this year and have been hosted by Chairman PBIT”, he said.
All Sikh community is grateful to Imran Khan, his Government and Chairman PBIT Sardar Tanveer Ilyas Khan, he added.
Sardar Tanveer Ilyas Khan in his remarks said the way Pakistan’s actions regarding religious freedoms are being appreciated in the world is the core spirit of our religion. ”Our Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) fed the non-muslims, made their stay easy for them, and gave them permission to fulfill their religious obligations. We cannot find greater act of tolerance than that” he added.
He said that the honesty and affection of the Army’s Chief shown to Navjot Singh Sadhu was widely criticized in India, but General Bajwa fulfilled his promise.
The initiative raised Pakistan’s respect in the world. The Sikh community stands with Kashmiris all over the world, while it is regrettable that Indian government’s attitude towards Muslims in the neighboring country is sad and condemnable.
People living for centuries are being asked for a certificate whether they are citizens of India or not.
He said baton charge of the Indian government on students sitting in libraries and universities is enough to open the eyes of the world.
India’s attitude towards minorities is quite appalling and Pakistan’s attitude towards its minorities is exceptional, Kartarpur being its prime example, he claimed.
He said that the way Narendra Modi’s Government has kept Kashmiris in a state of lock down for more than six months should be enough to shake conscious of humanity and the whole world.
He said the UN Secretary General also praised the opening of Kartarpur Corridor.
He said that Sikh community should consider Pakistan as their home. Pakistan is open and free to every religion and sect. The Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the founding father of Pakistan has categorically made it clear that people of all faiths and religions would be free to practice their religion in the country.
