TANK: Senior police officers of Khyber Pakhtukhwa (KP) have expressed disappointment and frustration about their future due to inordinate delay in their promotion to grade 18, it was learnt on Friday.
Requesting anonymity, a senior police officer, unveiled that a number of grade 17 police officers had been waiting for the meeting of Promotion Board. However, the meeting could not be convened to decide the fate of senior police officers due to least interest of high ups, he maintained.
The police officers have termed the undue delay in their promotions unjust and discriminatory act of the authorities concerned. It is worth considering that most of the police officers of grade 17 have been in wait for their elevation to higher grades despite performing their duties in difficult times and areas which has added to their miseries.
The eligible police officers have demanded of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sanaullah Abbasi to take personal interest in the matter and convene Promotion Board meeting so that the deserving officers may get their right in time which will encourage the police officers to perform their duty with more zeal and commitment.
