Pakistan witnesses worst day with 78 new deaths; 2,429 new cases during last 24 hrs

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan witnessed deadloest day of coronavirus pandemic as 78 new deaths were reported in last 24 hours that took toll to 1,395. 2,429 new infctions were also reported in last 24 hours tking the toll to 66,457.

The National Command and Operation Center (NCOC), has confirmed that 66,457 coronavirus epidemic infections round the country along with 1,395 deaths.

Sindh remains worst hit province by the coronavirus pandemic as it has crossed the toll of 26,113 confirmed cases the highest number along side with 427 fatalities, followed by Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.

Pakistan after crossing the milestone of half a million tests of the coronavirus epidemic has so far conducted 532,037 tests, Out of which 12,020 drring last 24 hours. 24,131 coronavirus patients have recovered in the country whereas many are in critical condition. Patients are under treatment at quarantine centers of 462 hospitals where 7,295 beds are available.

According to latest figure given on National Coronavirus Dashboard of NCOC on May 30, Saturday 9:30am, the province-wise break up after confirming the toll of 66,457 infections. Sindh jumped to 26,113 toll of coronavirus cases followed by Punjab with 24,104 infections of the COVID-19 pandemic. The infections confirmed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have reached to 9,063, in Balochistan toll surged to 4,087, Gilgit-Baltistan reached to the toll of 660 infections, Islamabad Capital Territory reached to 2,192 and 234 infection reported in Azad Jammu Kashmir.

The figure given by Coronavirus Dashboard in its province-wise break up regarding the total 1,395 deaths reported in the country. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is on top of the fatalities list with 445 deaths while Punjab at number 2 with 439 deaths, Sindh stands with 427 fatalities, Balochistan 46, Gilgit-Baltisan 9, Islamabad Capital Territory 23 and AJK 6.
