Coronavirus in Pakistan claims another 136 lives; 4,944 new cases reported in 24 hrs

ISLAMABAD: Coronavirus is still at run in Pakistan as 136 people lost lives to deadly virus along with 4,944 were reported as positive to COVID-19 in last 24 hours.

Though government is claiming a decline in coronavirus infections due to smart lockdown imposed on hotspots round the country, but still the country witnessed another worst day as 136 more deaths in last 24 hours along with 4,944 new infections reported in the country.

With 4,944 new infections reported in the country the toll of infections jumped to 165,062 infections in the country and with 136 new fatalities reported that took the death toll to 3,229.

Despite efforts are being made to control the coronavirus penadmic, it seems that the deadly virus has stretched its jaws over Pakistan and Pakistanis.

The National Command and Operation Center (NCOC), has confirmed 165.062 coronavirus infections in the country as well as it reported 3,229 deaths due to COVID-19.

Sindh has crossed the toll of 60,000 infections of COVID-19 with the toll surged to 62,269 and surpassed the Punjab that also reached to crossed the 60,000 mark as it jumped to 61,678 mark of infections. Sindh is leading the unfortunate list of infections with 62,269 onfection across the province followed by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.

Pakistan crossed one million mark of COVID-19 tests as so far 1,011,106 coronavirus tests were conducted nation-wide out of which 28,824 during last 24 hours. 61,383 coronavirus patients have recovered in the country whereas many are in critical condition. Coronavirus epidemic patients are under treatment at quarantine centers of 462 hospitals where 7,295 beds are available.

According to latest figure displayed on National Coronavirus Dashboard of NCOC on June 19, Friday 10:20am, the province-wise break up after confirming the toll of 165,062 infections show that Sindh jumped the toll of infections with 62,269 coronavirus cases followed by Punjab with.61,678 infections of the COVID-19 pandemic. The infections confirmed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have crossed 20,182 confirmed infections, in Balochistan toll surged to 8,998, Gilgit-Baltistan reached to the toll of 1,225 infections, Islamabad Capital Territory reached to 9,941 and 769 infection reported in Azad Jammu Kashmir.

The figure given by Coronavirus Dashboard in its province-wise break up regarding the total 3,229 deaths reported in the country. Punjab is at top of the list of confirmed deaths with 1,265 as Sindh with 964 deaths at number two. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa death toll surged to 773, Balochistan 99, Gilgit-Baltistan 18, Islamabad Capital Territory 95 and AJK 15.

836 health care workers test positive in Punjab, as data of the provincial disaster management authority over 836 healthcare workers have been found to be infected with COVID-19 out of 4,116 tested till date in Punjab.
