Pakistan reports 59 deaths; 2,775 infections reported in last 24 hours

ISLAMABAD: Coronavirus has again take a dip as country reported 59 new deaths in last 24 hours besides 2,775 new COVID-19 infections were reported.

The National Command and Operation Council (NCOC) and people at the helm of affairs regarding the COVID-19 are taking credit of the decline in deaths and infections by saying that smart lockdown imposed in hotspots identified in different cities of the country has worked.

With 59 new deaths reported in the country that took the toll to 3,962 and with 2,775 new infections confirmed nation-wide the toll of infections jumped to 195,745.

The National Command and Operation Center (NCOC), has confirmed 195.745 coronavirus infections in the country as well as it reported 3,903 deaths due to COVID-19.

Sindh and Punjab are two provinces which have crossed the 70,000 infections mark. Sindh jumped to 75,168 coronavirus infections. Punjab jumped to 71,987 coronavirus infections. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa also crossed the 20,000 mark of infections with 24,303 infections reported in the province while Islamabad Capital Territory also crossed 10,000 infections mark with 11,981 infections reported so far.

Pakistan crossed one million mark of COVID-19 tests as so far 1,193017 coronavirus tests were conducted nation-wide out of which 21,041 during last 24 hours. 84,168 coronavirus patients have recovered in the country whereas many are in critical condition. Coronavirus epidemic patients are under treatment at quarantine centers of 462 hospitals where 7,295 beds are available.

According to latest figure displayed on National Coronavirus Dashboard of NCOC on June 26, Friday 11:30am, the province-wise break up after confirming the toll of 195,745 infections show that Sindh is at the top of unfortunate table of COVID-19 infections with 75,168 coronavirus cases followed by Punjab with.71,987 infections of the COVID-19 pandemic. The infections confirmed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have crossed 24,303 confirmed infections, in Balochistan toll surged to 9,946, Gilgit-Baltistan reached to the toll of 1,398 infections, Islamabad Capital Territory reached to 11,981 and 962 infection reported in Azad Jammu Kashmir.

The figure given by Coronavirus Dashboard in its province-wise break up regarding the total 3,962 deaths reported in the country. Punjab is at top of the list of confirmed deaths with 1,629 while Sindh with 1,178 deaths at number two. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa death toll surged to 879, Balochistan 109, Gilgit-Baltistan 23, Islamabad Capital Territory 119 and AJK 25.
