ISLAMABAD: Director General Pakistan (DG) National Council of Arts (PNCA) Dr. Fouzia Saeed has approached cyber-crime wing of Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) against Uxi Mufti for launching a malicious campaign on social media.
Dr. Fouzia Saeed has been working in important positions in the field of culture; earlier as the head of Lok Virsa and currently as DG Pakistan National Council of the Arts.
Her work includes digitization and documentation of Lok Virsa’s archives, revamping of the Lok Virsa museum and organizing over 50 professional music programs.
Uxi Mufti, the former Executive Director of Lok Virsa, claimed that the archives had been stolen and she had received funds from the United States in return for selling them archival material of Lok Virsa.

Dr. Fouzia said the accusation on her began when her assignment was concluded in 2018. Based on allegations put together by Sajid Munir a retired employee of Media Center Lok Virsa, the Ministry of Information conducted a formal inquiry into the issue. After comprehensive investigation into matter, the government concluded once and for all that nothing was missing from the archives and all the digitized material was available on the server with its searchable functions still working, she said.
It was also witnessed by the experts of the ministry, as well as the new Lok Virsa management, and a report was accordingly made establishing the facts, she added.

Dr Fouzia Saeed in her statement before FIA stated that recently, Uxi Mufti has started raising these allegations without any proof by sending audio and video messages to policy makers, high level officials, journalists and scholars abroad. Dr Fouzia Saeed stated that she is a law-abiding citizen with a sound national and cross-border reputation and credibility as a scholar/author, cultural manager and human rights defender.
This act is to malign, harm and defame her reputation is a crime under Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act, 2016.
Dr. Fouzia Saeed last month served a legal notice to Uxi Mufti to sue him in the court for defaming her.
