Facilitation cell set up for families of Christchurch terror victims

ISLAMABAD

Government has set up a special facilitation cell to help relative of Pakistani origin victims of Friday’s mass shooting in two Mosques in New Zealand’s city of Christchurch.

Tagged crisis management cell, FO has given contact details of officials who would be facilitating the families and relatives of victims.  The cell would work round the clock to help these families, officials said.

Authorities in New Zealand have identified six Pakistanis among the 49 murdered in terrorist incidents of mass-shooting in two Mosques on Friday.

Pakistani foreign office confirmed that deceased Pakistani’s included Sohail Shahid, Syed Jahandad Ali, Syed Areeb Ahmed, Mahboob Haroon, Naeem Rashid and his son Talha Naeem. Other 3 missing are still being identified, he added.

Father and son, Naeem Rashid and Talha Naeem will be buried in Christchurch. Arrangements were being made to bring back dead bodies back to Pakistan, FO spokesman Dr. Faisal Hashmi said.
