Christchurch tragedy: Visa facilitation for immediate family members of victims

ISLAMABAD:

Ministry of foreign affairs will facilitate immediate family members of terror victims of New Zealand mosque shooting getting visa. Ministry in a circular issued on Saturday said the immediate family members of the Friday’s tragedy can apply for visa if they need to go and bring back dead   bodies of their deceased.

Authorities in New Zealand have identified six Pakistanis among the 49 murdered in terrorist incidents of mass-shooting in two Mosques on Friday.

Pakistani foreign office confirmed that deceased Pakistani’s included Sohail Shahid, Syed Jahandad Ali, Syed Areeb Ahmed, Mahboob Haroon, Naeem Rashid and his son Talha Naeem. Other 3 missing are still being identified, he added.

Father and son, Naeem Rashid and Talha Naeem will be buried in Christchurch. Arrangements were being made to bring back dead bodies back to Pakistan, FO spokesman Dr. Faisal Hashmi said.
