Pakistan seeks Australians’ investment in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: The High Commissioner for Pakistan, Babar Amin met David Ridgway MLC, Minister for Trade, Tourism and Investment of South Australia and discussed proposals promoting cooperative partnership between the two countries, said on Thursday.

He briefed the Minister about trade and investment opportunities in Pakistan and urged him to encourage investors from South Australia to invest in Pakistan in the mining, gas, oil exploration and infrastructure development projects.

He added that Pakistan would also welcome joint ventures with the Australian companies for the vocational and technical training of Pakistani youthful work force. Pakistan has provided trained work force in the I.T sector for the Silicon Valley, Microsoft and other I.T companies, Australia can also benefit from Pakistan by exploring Joint Ventures in these sectors.

The High Commissioner emphasized interaction at higher level for promotion of trade and invited the Honorable Minister to visit Pakistan. He also briefed the Minister regarding the new tourism policy in Pakistan and how Pakistan is emerging as one of the favorite destinations of foreign tourists. The High Commissioner expressed his desire to learn from the best practices in the field of tourism from Australia.

The Minister thanked the High Commissioner for the briefing and discussed different aspects of cooperation between the two countries and the means of enhancing them especially in the domains of business, trade, investment and tourism.

Both discuss different areas  of corporation and investments in Pakistan.
