SRINAGAR: In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of Hurriyat forum, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, has urged the government of India to take the repeated dialogue offer of Pakistan Prime Minister, Imran Khan, seriously.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq in a statement issued in Srinagar said Hurriyat leadership had always favoured talks as the means of resolution and there is nothing new in the remark on dialogue.
He said, “Pakistan PM Imran Khan’s repeated offer of dialogue on all issues between India and Pakistan including the Kashmir issue should also be seriously considered as a way forward.”
He said that Kashmiris being the most affected party of the Kashmir dispute for the past seventy two years naturally wanted its resolution and since its inception when all parties came together under one umbrella, the Hurriyat had been maintaining and reiterating that engagement and dialogue among stakeholders was the best and most peaceful means of the resolution of the Kashmir issue and not force.
Meanwhile, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq expressed grief over the demise of three prominent citizens of Kashmir that include well known trader and philanthropist, Abdul Ahad Tramboo, Sajada Nisheen Dargah Hazratbal, Ghulam Hassan Banday and noted educationist Professor Abdur Rehman Wani’s elder brother Muhammad Yousuf Wani.
Mirwaiz extended his heartfelt condolences to the family members of the deceased and prayed for the departed souls.
A delegation on behalf of Mirwaiz visited the residence of deceased Tramboo and offered condolences and extended solidarity and sympathies with them.
