ISLAMABAD: The Balochistan government has enforced Section 144 throughout the province for 30 days in response to serious security threats and to maintain law and order, according to an official notification issued on Thursday.
Under the order, all public rallies, sit-ins, gatherings of more than five people, and the display of weapons have been prohibited.
The notification stated that the decision was taken to prevent any untoward incident and ensure public safety. Authorities warned that legal action would be taken against violators.
Meanwhile, the provincial government has denied permission for a Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) rally scheduled for November 7 in Quetta.
Official sources said the decision was made due to serious security threats.
Security alerts have been issued in the provincial capital, and the local administration has tightened measures to avoid any untoward situation, officials added.
