Saudi Arabia has introduced strict new health regulations for Hajj 2026, declaring that individuals suffering from certain medical conditions will not be permitted to undertake the pilgrimage.
According to Pakistan’s Ministry of Religious Affairs, monitoring teams in Saudi Arabia will verify the authenticity of all medical fitness certificates issued to pilgrims.
The ministry stated that individuals suffering from liver failure, liver cirrhosis, or severe neurological disorders will be barred from performing Hajj. Similarly, women in the last three months of pregnancy will not be allowed to participate in the pilgrimage this year.
The restrictions also apply to patients diagnosed with whooping cough, tuberculosis, hemorrhagic fever, or cancer. Furthermore, individuals currently undergoing chemotherapy, biological, or radiological treatments have been prohibited from entering the Kingdom.
The Ministry of Religious Affairs emphasized that only those who meet the required health criteria will be allowed to travel for Hajj 2026.
It further warned that doctors issuing fake or inaccurate medical fitness certificates will face strict disciplinary action. Medical officers have also been authorized to prevent unfit pilgrims from traveling, ensuring full compliance with Saudi Arabia’s health regulations.
