Petroleum prices likely to rise in Pakistan ahead of Ramadan

ISLAMABAD: Petroleum product prices in Pakistan are likely to increase for the upcoming fortnight, sources said on Saturday.

As per initial estimates, petrol may rise by Rs4.39 per litre, diesel by Rs5.40 per litre, kerosene oil by Rs4, and light diesel oil by Rs6.55 per litre.

Advertisment

The increase, expected to take effect from February 16, could add to the financial burden on consumers ahead of Ramadan.

The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) will submit its summary to the government, and the Ministry of Finance will make the final decision in consultation with the prime minister, taking federal revenue requirements into account.
