BAJAUR: Unidentified armed assailants attacked the War Mamund police station, killing additional station house officer (SHO) in the Umaray area of Bajaur district last night.
According to police, the police station was attacked through using both light and heavy weapons by armed men. They said that police personals failed the attack; however, aditional SHO Gul Mahmood Din, who was on duty, was struck by gunfire and martyred.
The other station personnel were safe and secure after the attack.
the official said that police have launched a search operation in the area and that a full-scale police response continues.
Attacks on police personnel, law enforcement agencies, and security forces have increased across KP and Balochistan, especially following the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) broke a ceasefire agreement with the government in November 2022.
