FIA’s Anti-Corruption Circle seizes smuggled Indian medicines worth PKR 2.5 million in Quetta

Quetta: The Anti-Corruption Circle (ACC) of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), Quetta, carried out a successful operation against the illegal trade of spurious and smuggled medicines.

The raid was conducted as part of ongoing efforts to curb the circulation of counterfeit and unregistered pharmaceuticals in the region.

During the operation, the accused, Muhammad Waseem s/o Abdul Hakeem, was apprehended. A substantial quantity of Indian-origin medicines, suspected to be smuggled and unregistered, was recovered from his possession.

The seized medicines are suspected to be spurious and smuggled, posing a serious risk to public health. The estimated market value of the recovered items is approximately PKR 2.5 million.

The operation and subsequent briefing were conducted by Fazal Rehman Kakar, Deputy Director, Anti-Corruption Circle Quetta, who stated that further investigation has been initiated to identify other individuals involved in this illegal network. Strict legal action will be taken against all those found responsible.

FIA remains committed to safeguarding public health and combating the menace of counterfeit and smuggled pharmaceuticals.
