“The Muslim Ummah has never faced a fiercer enemy than it does now, and its unity, after Allah’s help, is its real strength,” he said.

He observed that divisions within the Muslim world had weakened the Ummah and called for greater unity among Muslims.

The president paid tribute to Field Marshal and Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) Gen Asim Munir, describing him as a source of hope for the Muslim world.

He stated: “The Ummah suffers from deep differences and wide divisions and Its enemies have dug their fangs into the body of the Ummah. Now we need unity of ranks more than ever before.”

He stressed that Muslims needed to strengthen their faith and unite around a common cause to address the challenges facing the Muslim world.

Calling upon worshippers to practise unity in their daily lives, he urged them to fear Allah and promote harmony at home, in their neighbourhoods and workplaces.

He said Islam united its followers through the Kalima, which connected believers with Allah, the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and one another.

The president added that the teachings of Islam required believers to wish for others what they wished for themselves.

Dr Alahmed also urged Muslims to hold firmly to the rope of Allah and avoid disputes.

Quoting Hazrat Abdullah ibn Masud (RA), he said: “Hold fast to the Jamaah, for it is the rope of Allah. What you dislike in unity is better than what you like in division.”

He said Islamic rituals also emphasised the importance of collective life and unity among Muslims.
