GBLA condemn Indian move to change IoK’s special status

GILGIT, : The Gilgit-Baltistan Legislative Assembly (GBLA) through a unanimous resolution has strongly condemn the Indian government over revocation of Article 370 and 35-A changing special status of Occupied Kashmir and termed it violation of resolutions of United Nations.

Deputy Speaker Jafarullah Khan chaired the 40th session of GBLA commenced in Gilgit on Tuesday.

The Provincial Assembly expressed solidarity with Kashmiris and vowed to continue their support.

The House demanded UNO to take notice of atrocities being perpetrated by Indian troops on innocent Kashmiris in Occupied Kashmir.

The Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly approved amendment in the civil servant act 2011.

Under the amendment the Employees of Social Welfare department will now serve as employees of Province instead of Federal Government.

Minister Law Aurangzeb Khan today tabled Gilgit Baltistan Prosecution Bill 2019 in the House for approval.

Deputy Speaker referred it to select committee Law to represent it with recommendations. Chairman select committee on Agriculture Farman Ali tabled recommendations about establishment of separate irrigation department.

Jafarullah Khan advised him to represent it with some amendment in current session.

Later, Deputy Speaker GBLA adjourned session till Wednesday 11 am.(INP/SB)
