ISLAMABAD: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Wednesday reached the PM house to attend the meeting chaired by Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan to consult the hearing of a case pertaining to the extension in service of the Army Chief.
According to sources, the legal team briefed PM Imran and the senior members of federal cabinet over the Supreme Court’s objections in case pertaing to the extension in service of the Army Chief. Sources told that judicial objections raised by the SC were also discussed in the session.
The meeting completed consultations regarding court hearing and prepared a draft to remove objections of the SC. It is expected that the approval of draft through a circulation summary would be got from federal cabinet.
New draft to extend tenure of Army Chief drafted
A new draft has been drafted to extend the tenure of Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa.
An important consultation meeting was held in Islamabad on Wednesday evening. Prime Minister Imran Khan chaired the meeting. The PM’s legal team also attended it.
