“Artificial Intelligence Will Shape Future” launched

AIWSF also launched website which will offer information about new research in the field of Artificial Intelligence

ISLAMABAD: A project titled ‘Artificial Intelligence Will Shape Future’ (AIWSF), was launched here Saturday to establish network of stakeholders related to artificial intelligence.

Launched by STRIVE Trust, that has been working to eradicate disability, the new project has been initiated to create awareness about artificial intelligence and its role in making life of special persons better.

It will also provide courses of study for the students who want to work on the subject.

Encouraging the idea; ‘Artificial Intelligence Will Shape Future’, director general health Islamabad Dr. Hassan Urooj said the concept of artificial intelligence is not a new thing, but its applications and interventions are new for this part of the world.

Dr Urooj assured government’s support to AIWSF. He said helping disable persons is one of the major component of safe city project.

AWISF wants to establish a practical network of all stakeholders in and outside Pakistan to realize the objective. It will be providing latest updates regarding new inventions related to Artificial Intelligence.

Heads of engineering departments of different institutes in presentations vowed that such projects are need of the hour in Pakistan.

AIWSF sponsored project of a software engineering student from a local university was shown at the event. It titled; “Remote Health Monitoring System “.

It comprised a hardware component that is configured and employed to patient’s body. The hardware component transmits data to the database using the Wi-Fi module.

Any person can log in and supervise the patient’s medical status. The network-based interface sends alerts in case of any abnormal behavior in patient’s status.

The student said, in future, this software will be further modified using Artificial Intelligence. It will be able to detect and measure the pain a patient is going through.

The volunteers shared their journey with STRIVE Trust. A panel discussion was held. The panel included Dr. Haroon Khan, Dr. Syed Saud Naqvi, Dr. Abdul Baseer Qazi, Dr. Adnan Idrees, Dr. Ansar Rajpoot.

Hammad Latif, read out the letter written to the Prime Minister, highlighting importance of the matter, requesting government’s help to materialize objectives of the project.

AIWSF also launched website (www.aiwsf.com) which will offer information about new research and interventions in the dicipline.

CEO Strive Trust, Yasir Khan eleborated the project and importance of Artificial Intelligence. He was seconded by all the panelists. Khan, himself a specially- abled youngster, said volunteers are the real asset of Strive and the newly launched project AIWSF. He thanked the audience for encouraging and supporting the noble cause of helping specially-abled persons.
