MUZAFFARABAD: Azad Kashmir’s Prime Minister Faisal Mumtaz Rathore on Tuesday has said reforms in the education sector were essential to improve learning outcomes in a rapidly changing world shaped by modern technology.

While chairing a high-level meeting of the Education Department (Schools), he said aligning curriculum in line with contemporary demands, introducing digital learning opportunities and skill-based education would enable students to effectively face the future challenges.

The Prime Minister said the education system in Azad Kashmir would be transformed into an exemplary, transparent and quality system, where every child has access to quality education without discrimination.

He reiterated his government’s resolve to utilize all available resources to improve the education system, enhance teachers’ capacity, and upgrade school infrastructure.

During the meeting, education reforms, improving quality, and modernizing the system were discussed in detail, reviewing various aspects of the proposed education package for the Education Department and schools.

The meeting decided to ensure the establishment and upgradation of schools as per the need, including the provision of educational facilities in remote and backward areas, improvement of school infrastructure and ensuring equal educational opportunities for students.

The meeting was attended by Minister for Education, Schools, Diwan Ali Khan Chughtai, Minister for Power Development Organization (PDO) Chaudhry Rashid, Advisor to the Government, Sardar Fahad Yaqoob, Principal Secretary Zafar Mehmood, Secretary Education, Qazi Inayat and others.
