Banks to remain Closed for Public Dealing on first Jan, 2026

All banks will remain closed for public dealings across the country on the first day of the new year 2026 as January 1, is declared a bank holiday by the banking sector regulator.

According to The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) statement, SBP will remain closed for public dealings on Thursday, January 01, 2026, which will be observed as ‘Bank Holiday’.

All banks, development finance institutions (DFIs) and micro-finance banks (MFBs) shall also remain closed for public dealing on the aforementioned date, it said, adding that all employees of the banks, DFIs and MFBs will attend the office as usual.
