British Pakistani teen fatally stabbed outside Smethwick Mosque; two others injured

A young British Pakistani lost his life in a knife attack outside a Smethwick mosque on Friday night.

The tragic incident occurred around 9pm outside the Jamia Mosque on Oldbury Road, where the 18-year-old Zeeshan Afzal lost his life, while two other young men were injured.

As per the reports, he severe injuries in the knife attack. Paramedics attempted to provide medical assistance, but Zeeshan succumbed to his injuries.

The West Midlands Police have initiated investigations into the incident and have expanded their search area to identify those involved.

A police spokesperson expressed sympathy with Zeeshan’s family during this difficult time.

Initial inquiries indicate there is no evidence suggesting the attack was based on religious or racial grounds, and authorities are treating it as a general altercation that escalated into a fatal stabbing.

The local community has expressed shock and grief over the incident, particularly since it occurred near a place of worship.

British police have urged anyone with video footage, mobile recordings, or dashcam evidence related to the incident to come forward.

An online portal has been created for this purpose.

Additional police officers have been deployed in the area to maintain public order.
