“Bully”; a five-letter word which means to threaten, hurt someone or to make someone do something he doesn’t want to; to make one believe in false about himself.
This is not just an ordinary word. It can destroy one’s life in a way that can’t be imagined. It shatters a person’s confidence within minutes and has an ever-lasting impact on their lives.
It can turn an extrovert into an introvert in the blink of an eye and above all, it makes a person feel the weakest yet repulsive creature on Earth not only physically but mentally and emotionally as well.
Today, many cases have been reported regarding bullying. It is considered as sin, according to Islam. It should be considered as a crime and a strict punishment should be given to the one who bully others and leave them with a broken heart and negative feelings.
People usually bully others on the basis of something which is not in their hands; usually the way they look. Why do we forget that God has created us? The one, the best of the Creators. He has said that “I’ve made man in the best of forms” The one who can never create something blemished. Why do we point out others’ flaws and make them feel bad and leave that feeling within them for the rest of their life!
A case was reported of a small beautiful girl who was born with black skin. She was bullied to the extent that she began to feel that she’s not beautiful just because she was born black.
Was it her fault to born this way? Was it her fault that people like us cannot see beauty in her? Her confidence was completely shattered and all she can do was to cry. Until her mother made her realize that being black doesn’t mean that you’re not beautiful.
Another case was reported of a young boy who was bullied just because of the way he looks alike; his features. Some words which he kept on saying to his parents were “I want to die; please kill me”. When will we learn to respect each other, to not point out each other’s flaws? Its better to stay quite than to speak something which can hurt others to such extent.
Bullying should be considered as a crime and punishment should be allocated for it. It is not physical abuse which can be healed within sometime rather it is an emotional and mental abuse which has an ever-lasting impact on one’s life.
It’s an act which doesn’t need a weapon to harm someone because words and actions are enough to do so and which can force one to take a lethal step as suicide. This cruel act is not only performed by our so-called friends but even it is done by our family as well as the society we live in.
So, rather than bullying each other and forcing others to take life taking steps, we should learn to encourage others, help each other to embrace their flaws and try to make them believe that they’re best the way they are because the best of the Creator have created us and we should help them grow and be a staunch part of the society even with their flaws. Since there’s no one except for Allah.
