ISLAMABAD:Member Executive Committee of the Federation Pakistan Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FPCCI) and former vice president, Mirza Abdul Rehman said that the FPCCI has announced the 7th achievement awards on July 25th, 2019 which is likely to be held in Awan-e- Sadar Islamabad.
He said that we appreciate the gesture to allow the ceremony of this award in Awan-e-Sadar.
However, this ceremony must be in connection with the approval of Executive Committee as per Director General Trade Organization (DGTO) rules.
Mirza Abdur Rahman was of the view that he would like to draw attention towards an important matter that some senior members of Chamber of commerce submitted a petition before the Regulator of Trade Organization (DGTO) against these awards ceremony regarding transparency and due approval from the Executive Committee of the FPCCI which Federation held twice in a year.
Accordingly DGTO heard the case in detail after hearing the parties at length with official documents and placed the order as stated below.
“The order stated after hearing the parties at length, examining their statements and official record, Pursuing the relevant laws and rules and on the basis of facts, The FPCCI is directing to bringing the transparency in the funds collection of the activities for the annual achievement awards ceremony.
An appropriate mechanism is to be developed by the FPCCI with the approval of Executive Committee for the upcoming awards ceremony.
The mechanism must ensure that unnecessary burden is not placed on the members/ recipients for events not included in the annual plan of activities of licence TOs.
The mechanism after the approval of the executive Committee is to be circulated among all member TOs with the direction of the strict implementation of the same”.
Mirza Abdur Rahman requested the President of Pakistan to hold this ceremony in the best interest of justice until due process may be implemented.(INP)
