He told us that Pakistan received the highest-ever amount of money sent by overseas Pakistanis in July 2020. It’s a whopping $2,768 million! This is such a big deal for Pakistan’s economy, and it’s all thanks to the hard work and love of our overseas brothers and sisters.
Prime Minister Imran Khan was so happy about this news that he couldn’t help but share it with everyone. He called it “more good news” for Pakistan. And you know what? He’s absolutely right! This increase is huge – it’s 12.2% more than what we got in June 2020 and a whopping 36.5% more than what we received in July 2019.
Can you imagine that? It’s like a big pat on the back for all the overseas Pakistanis who work so hard and send money back home. And Prime Minister Imran Khan made sure to thank them for their amazing efforts. He knows how important this money is for our country, especially when it’s much more than what we got last year.
And you know what else? This isn’t just a one-time thing. Our remittances have been going up steadily. In the past year alone, they went up by 9.7%! That’s a lot, especially when you compare it to the small increase we had before that.
The State Bank of Pakistan confirmed all this good news. They told us that during the fiscal year 2018-19, overseas Pakistanis sent us a total of $21,841.50 million. That’s almost $22 billion! And it’s all thanks to the hard work and love of our overseas family.
Prime Minister Imran Khan also made sure to shout out to all the countries that helped us out. From Malaysia to Norway, Switzerland to Australia, and many more – they all played a part in this amazing increase in remittances. It just shows how much love and support we have from all around the world.
