KARACHI: Sindh Minister for Excise and Taxation & Narcotics Control and Parliamentary Affairs Mukesh Kumar Chawla has asked the officers and officials to speed up the recovery of professional tax during current financial year and ensure issuance of challans, recovery and updation in developing system of all four Professional Division.
This he said while presiding over a meeting here in his office on Saturday. Secretary Excise and Taxation & Narcotics Abdul Haleem Shaikh, Director General Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui, Director Excise and Taxation Iqbal Ahmed Leghari, Additional Director Shabana Pervaiz and other officers also attended the meeting.
Mukesh Kumar Chawla said, ‘All officers/officials, posted for Professional Tax Collection , should be mobilized and guided to chalk out strategies for boost up the recovery of Professional Tax in achieving the desired assigned targets for the financial year 2019-20 ‘.
He also advised to bring new units into tax net from the list of companies registered and available in the list of Security Exchange Companies of Pakistan as well as Government, Semi Government, Autonomous Bodies and Semi Autonomous Bodies.
On the occasion, Director General ET & NC Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui informed the minister for EX & NC that the Department was also going to write letters to Small Trader/Market Associations etc to bring them into the tax net.
The provincial minister warned the officers and officials that strict action would be taken against those who were failed to achieve the tax collection targets.(Additional Input From INP)
