CJP vows to bring democratic values in judicial system

LAHORE: Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Gulzar Ahmed has vowed to bring democratic values in the system and to move forward with the same values.

Addressing a ceremony at Punjab Bar Council in Lahore, CJP Gulzar Ahmed said that there is no discrimination between lawyers and judges and wished that the legal community would remain steadfast in the learning process.

The chief justice stated that he once apologized to a judge on directions of his father and advised lawyers to also not fight the judges. If you have any concerns about a verdict, take legal options, he stressed.

Justice Gulzar highlighted that lawyers are always taken into confidence on every issue and assured that resolving the problems of the lawyers is the first priority.

CJP Gulzar Ahmed said that the wall between lawyers and judges has fallen down and lawyers have also been taken into confidence on the appointment of judges.

He said that judges and lawyers are providing justice with mutual consultation and asked them that they should not get violent in front of judges. (With input from INP)
