Confirmed COVID-19 cases in Punjab rise above 10,000, death toll nears 200

LAHORE: Confirmed coronavirus oandemic infections in Punjab crossed the 10,000 mark with the toll reached to 10,033 early on Friday after new infections were confirmed across the province.

The total number of death so far reported in Punjab were 194 all over province on Friday morning.

On the day the confirmed innfections toll is nearing to 26,000 with 1,764 newcases were reported all over country.

Despite the Pakistan announced to ease lockdown restrictions from Saturday while 1,764 new cases were recorded in a single day with 35 fatalities, the highest ever toll in the country.

The number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the country has soared to 25,837 after the new infections.

Of these, 9,093 were reported in Sindh, 10,033 in Punjab, 3,956 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 1,725 in Balochistan, 558 in Islamabad, 394 in Gilgit-Baltistan, and 78 in Azad Kashmir.

Over 7,500 patients have also recovered from the virus so far.
