Continue state of alertness: Pakistani army chief directs troops

Pakistan military on Thursday expressed determination to the defence the motherland against any misadventure or aggression.

Corps commanders moot held under Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa in chaired at General Headquarters (GHQ) reviewed the geo-strategic environment and current regional situation after escalation between Pakistan and India, a statement of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), media wing of armed forces said.

General Bajwa directed for the continued state of vigilance and alertness so as to be prepared for responding to any threat.

”The forum expressed strong will, resolve and determination to the defence the motherland against any misadventure or aggression” it added.

The huddle raised grave concerns over increased Indian atrocities in occupied Jammu and Kashmir post-Pulwama attack and continuous violation of the Line of Control (LoC) by Indian troops.

The Indian occupation forces were deliberately targeting innocent civilians [residing in bordering areas] on the ceasefire line, the statement said.

“Continuity of such brutalities are only fuelling the fire and need to be stopped in the interest of regional peace which also merits the world’s attention, the forum said.

The commanders also reviewed progress on implementation of the National Action Plan 2014.

The Army Chief, while addressing the forum, appreciated morale and performance of the armed forces. He welcomed the nation’s support for the forces. General Bajwa directed for the continued state of vigilance and alertness so as to be prepared for responding to any threat.

He also directed to further the efforts in line with decisions of the government for accelerating implementation of the National Action Plan while rendering full assistance to other state institutions.

The Army Chief in his concluding remarks said, “Pakistan is on the positive trajectory of peace, stability and progress. No one can make us budge through the use or threat of use of force. Similarly, policy and the right of use of force shall remain the prerogative of the state along.”
