KARACHI: Chief Secretary Sindh Syed Mumtaz Ali Shah has said that all provincial departments and law enforcement agencies (LEAs) should ensure coordinated efforts for successful holdings of three cricket matches of Pak-Sri Lanka one-day international series (ODI) scheduled to be held in National Stadium Karachi on September 27 & 29 and October 02, 2019.
He issued the directives while presiding an overwhelming meeting on Monday which was attended by the Secretaries of the Departments of Health, Home, Sports, Local Government and Public Health Engineering, Commissioner Karachi, Additional IG Karachi and officials of PCB, Pak Army and Pakistan Rangers.
The Chief Secretary categorically noted that no slackness or ignorance would be tolerated, thus he emphasized that road carpeting to and from the national stadium specifically , including at all other parts must be carried out, as well water supply & sewerage and power provision should also be prioritized in addition to fool proof security arrangements, Mr. Shah added.

He directed the Sindh Police to maintain well organized security system during Pak-Sri Lanka ODI like PSL matches of near past when the series accomplished smoothly and there is no mentionable complaint on the record. Hence Syed Mumtaz Ali Shah maintained that all departments concerned to security and LEAs must pay their vital role for peaceful holdings of Pak-Sri Lankan one day series sufficiently. The Chief Secretary stated that this is an international event and it will have and arrangements in this regard would be of international level.
Earlier Secretaries of Health and Home, Commissioner Karachi Iftikhar Ahmed Shalwani , Add.IGP Karachi Ghulam Nabi Memon, Additional IGP Ameer Shaikh and MD KW&SB Asadullah Khan briefed about the preparations and ongoing arrangements to this effect. The Chief Secretary also advised to PCB officials for effectively control the fake ticket using mishaps with a view to eradicate any untoward situation. (INP)
