ISLAMABAD: Coronavirus claims 20 more lives, besides infected 1,176 persons in 24 hours more people were tested positive of the virus during last 24 hours.
With the 1,176 new coronavirus cases confirmed during last 24 hours the toll of COVID-19 cases surged to 274,289 while with 24 new deaths confirmed the nation-wide tally of fatalities has jumped to 5,842.
The National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) has confirmed that 1,176 persons have been tested positive for COVID-19 in 24 hours and 20 more people have lost their lives to COVID-19 in the country.
According to figures released on National Coronavirus Dashboard of the NCOC at 10:00am on Monday July 27, the toll of coronavirus positive cases reached to 274,289 and Sindh remains the worst-hit province by the pandemic in terms of infections with 118,311 cases followed by Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Islamabad.
The figure shows that 118,311 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Sindh, 92,0731 in Punjab, 33,397 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 11,601 in Balochistan, 14,884 in Islamabad 1,989 in Gilgit-Baltistan and 2,034 in Azad Kashmir.
As far the death toll in concerned the figures shows overall 5,842 deaths were reported in the country as Sindh crossed the toll of deaths in Punjab. 2,151 individuals have lost their lives to the epidemic in the province, 2,116 in Punjab, 1,178 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 136 in Balochistan, 162 in Islamabad, 47 in Gilgit-Baltistan and 49 in Azad Kashmir.
Pakistan has so far conducted 1,890,236 coronavirus tests and 22,056 in last 24 hours. 241,026 coronavirus patients have recovered in the country whereas 1,229 patients are in critical condition.
