ISLAMABAD: Coronavirus pandemic continued its travel despite the government’s claim of controlling the epidemic. The virus killed 35 more people in Pakistan while 1,226 more people were tested positive of the virus during last 24 hours.
With the 1,226 new coronavirus cases confirmed during last 24 hours the toll of COVID-19 cases surged to 273,113 while with 24 new deaths confirmed the nation-wide tally of fatalities has jumped to 5,822.
The National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) has confirmed that 1,226 persons have been tested positive for COVID-19 in 24 hours and 35 more people have lost their lives to COVID-19 in the country.
According to figures released on National Coronavirus Dashboard of the NCOC at 13:00pm on Sunday July 26, the toll of coronavirus positive cases reached to 273,113 and Sindh remains the worst-hit province by the pandemic in terms of infections with 117,598 cases followed by Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Islamabad.
The figure shows that 117,598 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Sindh, 91,901 in Punjab, 33,220 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 11,578 in Balochistan, 14,841 in Islamabad 1,952 in Gilgit-Baltistan and 2,023 in Azad Kashmir.
As far the death toll in concerned the figures shows overall 5,822 deaths were reported in the country with 2,113 individuals have lost their lives to the epidemic in Punjab, 2,110 in Sindh, 1,170 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 136 in Balochistan, 162 in Islamabad, 47 in Gilgit-Baltistan and 49 in Azad Kashmir.
Pakistan has so far conducted 1,868,180 coronavirus tests and 23,254 in last 24 hours. 237,434 coronavirus patients have recovered in the country whereas 1,267 patients are in critical condition.
