ISLAMABAD: Coronavirus pandemic claimed 71 more lives during last 24 hours while 1,771 more people were tested positive to deadly virus.
The Government of Pakistan on Tuesday has confirmed 71 new deaths and 1,771 more people were tested positive. 1,771 new coronavirus cases took the toll of infections to 922,824 cases. During last 24 hours 71 new deaths were reported that took the toll of fatalities to 20,850.
According to latest figures displayed on National Coronavirus Dashboard of the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC), The NCOC conducted overall more than 13.3 million coronavirus testes across the country while 47,633 COVID-19 tests conducted in 24 hours, out of them 1,771 were tested positive.
The coronavirus positivity ratio in Pakistan falls to 4.6% as on Tuesday. The number of active COVID-19 cases in the country is 68,959, while 844,638 people have recovered from the virus so far and 3,842 were reported to be in critical condition.
Punjab remained the worst hit province during this month as positivity rate is still high than the remaining parts of country where it has shown downward trend while the toll of infections reached to 340,110 in the province. Sindh has reported 318,579 overall coronavirus epidemic infections, followed by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan. Punjab has overtaken Sindh in most number of casualties.
The new cases have taken the national tally of positive cases to 922,824 with 340,110 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Punjab, 318,579 in Sindh, 132,822 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 81,257 in Islamabad, 25,218 in Balochistan, 19,250 in Azad Kashmir and 5,588 in Gilgit-Baltistan.
Nationwide till of deaths surged to 20,850 out of that 10,039 individuals have lost their lives to the epidemic in Punjab 5,039 in Sindh, 4,079 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 762 in Islamabad, 544 in Azad Kashmir, 280 in Balochistan, and 107 in Gilgit-Baltistan.
Pakistan has so far conducted 13,269,214 coronavirus tests and 47,633 in the last 24 hours. 844,638 patients have recovered in the country whereas 3,842 patients are in critical condition.
