ISLAMABAD: Coronavirus fifth wave is still continue but Pakistani nation expressed a sigh of relief as during last 24 hours country reported 2,662 new positive cases, the lowest figure in a months period, besides 29 deaths were also reported.
According to latest figure displayed on National Coronavirus Dashboard of the National Command and Operation Centre’s (NCOC) 2,662 people have been tested positive for the deadly virus and 29 people have lost their lives on Monday morning.
NCOC stated that 47,307 coronavirus tests were conducted across the country in the last 24 hours, of which 2,662 returned positive. The rate of positive cases during the last 24 hours was 5.62 per cent.
Pakistan has so far conducted 25,799,168 coronavirus tests and 47,307 in the last 24 hours. 1,379,921 patients have recovered in the country whereas 1,566 patients are in critical condition.
With 29 more deaths during last 24 hours the NCOC stated that overall number of deaths from COVID-19 in the country has risen to 29,801. Total number of overall positive cases has reached 1,486,361, after 2,662 more people were tested positive.
According to province-wise coronavirus update release by the NCOC Punjab remains the worst-hit province in terms of deaths followed by Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
NCOC stated that the overall death toll across the country surged to 29,801 out of which 13,363 individuals have lost their lives to the epidemic in Punjab, 7,980 in Sindh 6,130 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 999 in Islamabad, 769 in Azad Kashmir, 371 in Balochistan, and 189 in Gilgit-Baltistan.
The overall figure of the positive cases across the country surged to 1,486,361 out of which 558,826 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Sindh, 495,430 in Punjab 210,726 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 133,112 in Islamabad, 41,978 in Azad Kashmir 35,096 in Balochistan and 11,193 in Gilgit-Baltistan.
So far, 115,238,268 people have received their first dose of coronavirus vaccine including 1,330,298 in last 24 hours. 89,853,639 citizens have been fully vaccinated while 950,726 received their second dose in last 24 hours.
The number of total administered doses has reached to 194,492,475 with 2,244,371 in the last 24 hours.
