Coronavirus hit six more doctors of Nishtar Hospital; toll extends to 23

MULTAN: Coronavirus infected six more doctors working in Nishtar Hospital and they have tested positive, raising the number of infected patients to 23.

According to reports, 13 doctors contracted COVID-19 on Sunday (April 12, 2020) in Nishtar Hospital Multan. Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar took notice of the incident and sought inquiry report from the health secretary.

Four more doctors were tested positive for the virus earlier today (April 13, 2020) while six other doctors working in Nishtar Hospital have tested positive for the deadly COVID-19 later in the day, raising total number of infected doctors to 23.

On the other hand, Punjab Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid has said that infected doctors were not treating coronavirus patients as there is no coronavirus ward in the hospital and one of the doctors, who contracted the virus from his father, infected other doctors.
