Coronavirus pandemic claims 42 more lives, 1,163 tested positive during last 24 hours

ISLAMABAD: Coronavirus epidemic during its second wave has claimed 42 more lives as during last 24 hours and 1,163 people were tested positive to virus.

During last 24 hours 42 new deaths were reported to COVID-19 and 1,163 more people were tested positive to the virus round the Pakistan on Tuesday.

Nationwide infections toll reported on Tuesday was 1,163 to coronavirus epidemic besides 42 more deaths were confirmed. With 1,163 new infections reported in the .country that took the toll to 582,528 cases and with 42 new deaths the toll of fatalities jumped to 12,938.

According to the latest figures displayed on National Coronavirus Dashboard of the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC), the NCOC confirmed the death of 42 more people during last 24 hours besides reported that 1,163 persons tested positive for COVID-19.

Sindh with 258,412 overall COVID-19 cases remains the worst-hit province by the pandemic in terms of cases followed by Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan. Punjab has overtaken Sindh in most number of casualties.

So far across the country 258,412 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Sindh, 172,683 in Punjab 72,615 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 44,516 in Islamabad, 19,066 in Balochistan, 10,280 in Azad Kashmir and 4,956 in Gilgit-Baltistan.

Nationwide tally of fatalities remains 12,938 out of that 5,391 individuals have lost their lives to the epidemic in Punjab 4,353 in Sindh, 2,085 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 501 in Islamabad, 306 in Azad Kashmir, 200 in Balochistan, and 102 in Gilgit-Baltistan.

Pakistan has so far conducted 9,022,124 coronavirus tests and 31,948 in the last 24 hours. 547,406 coronavirus patients have recovered in the country whereas 1,529 patients are in critical condition.
