ISLAMABAD: Coronavirus epidemic in its third wave has again surged as the virus claimed 46 more lives in Pakistan during last 24 hours and 2,338 people were tested positive to killer disease.
During last 24 hours 46 new deaths were reported to COVID-19 and 2,338 more people were tested positive to the virus round the Pakistan Saturday.
Nationwide infections on Saturday surged to new high during last more than one month as 2,338 were tested to coronavirus epidemic besides 46 more deaths were confirmed. With 2,338 new infections reported in the country that took the toll to 602,536 cases and with 46 new deaths the toll of fatalities jumped to 13,476.
According to the latest figures displayed on National Coronavirus Dashboard of the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC), the NCOC confirmed the death of 46 more people during last 24 hours besides reported that 2,338 persons tested positive for COVID-19.
Sindh with 260,959 overall COVID-19 cases remains the worst-hit province by the pandemic in terms of cases followed by Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan. Punjab has overtaken Sindh in most number of casualties.
So far across the country 260,959 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Sindh, 183,815 in Punjab 75,357 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 47,365 in Islamabad, 19,188 in Balochistan, 19,188 in Azad Kashmir and 4,960 in Gilgit-Baltistan.
Nationwide tally of fatalities remains 13,476 out of that 5,732 individuals have lost their lives to the epidemic in Punjab 4,453 in Sindh, 2,147 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 522 in Islamabad, 317 in Azad Kashmir, 202 in Balochistan, and 103 in Gilgit-Baltistan.
Pakistan has so far conducted 9,445,138 coronavirus tests and 42,499 in the last 24 hours. 569,296 coronavirus patients have recovered in the country whereas 1,720 patients are in critical condition.
