Coronavirus pandemic claims 48 more lives, 1,772 people tested positive in 24 hours

ISLAMABAD: Coronavirus epidemic claimed 48 more lives across Pakistan and crossed 11,000 mark and surged to 11,103 deaths while during last 24 hours 1,772 people were tested positive to COVID-19.

Pakistan reported 1,772 new infections of coronavirus epidemic during last 24 hours while 48 new deaths have been confirmed. With 1,772 new infections reported in the country that took the toll to 524,783 cases and with 48 new deaths the toll of fatalities jumped to 11,103 deaths.

According to the latest figures displayed on National Coronavirus Dashboard of the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC), the NCOC confirmed the death of 48 more people during last 24 hours besides reported that 1,772 persons tested positive for COVID-19.

Sindh with 237,308 overall COVID-19 cases remains the worst-hit province by the pandemic in terms of cases followed by Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan. Punjab has overtaken Sindh in most number of casualties.

So far across the country 237,308 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Sindh, 150,889 in Punjab 64,078 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 40,304 in Islamabad, 18,640 in Balochistan, 8,672 in Azad Kashmir and 4,892 in Gilgit-Baltistan.

Nationwide tally of fatalities remains 11,103 out of that 4,476 individuals have lost their lives to the epidemic in Punjab 3,830 in Sindh, 1,799 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 460 in Islamabad, 245 in Azad Kashmir, 191 in Balochistan, and 102 in Gilgit Baltistan.

Pakistan has so far conducted 7,481,688 coronavirus tests and 39,604 in the last 24 hours. 478,517 coronavirus patients have recovered in the country whereas 2,368 patients are in critical condition.
