Coronavirus pandemic claims 48 more lives while 2,435 people tested positive

ISLAMABAD: Coronavirus epidemic claimed 48 more lives all over Pakistan while 2,435 person were tested positive to deadly virus on Friday.
National Instutitute of Health (NIH) has confirmed two positive patients of New Coronavirus Variant, the new version of COVID-19 Variant reported in Karachi among people coming from Britain.
2,435 new coronavirus epidemic infections were reported during last 24 hours and 48 new deaths have been confirmed. With 2,435 new infections reported in the country the toll surged to 497,510 cases and with 48 more deaths the toll of fatalities jumped to 10,558 deaths on Friday.
According to the latest figures displayed on National Coronavirus Dashboard of the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC), the NCOC on Friday confirmed the death of 48 more people during last 24 hours besies reported that 2,435 persons tested positive for COVID-19.
Sindh with 222,999 overall COVID-19 cases remains the worst-hit province by the pandemic in terms of cases followed by Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan. Punjab has overtaken Sindh in most number of casualties.
So far 222,999 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Sindh, 143,511 in Punjab, 60,536 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 18,314 in Balochistan, 38,842 in Islamabad, 8,430 in Azad Kashmir and 4,878 in Gilgit-Baltistan.
Nationwide tally of fatalities remains 10,558 out of that 4,221 individuals have lost their lives to the epidemic in Punjab, 3,670 in Sindh, 1,710 in KP, 186 in Balochistan, 436 in Islamabad, 234 in Azad Kashmir and 101 in GB.
Pakistan has so far conducted 7,002,706 coronavirus tests and 38,369 in the last 24 hours. 453,828 coronavirus patients have recovered in the country whereas 2,285 patients are in critical condition.
