ISLAMABAD: Coronavirus epidemic claimed 52 more lives round the country while 2,118 person were tested positive to deadly virus on Wednesday.
National Instutitute of Health (NIH) has confirmed two positive patients of New Coronavirus Variant, the new version of COVID-19 Variant reported in Karachi among people coming from Britain.
2,118 new coronavirus epidemic infections were reported during last 24 hours and 52 new deaths have been confirmed. With 2,118 new infections reported in the country the toll surged to 492,594 cases and with 52 more deaths the toll of fatalities jumped to 10,461 deaths on Wednesday.
According to the latest figures displayed on National Coronavirus Dashboard of the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC), the NCOC on Wednesday confirmed the death of 52 more people during last 24 hours besies reported that 2,118 persons tested positive for COVID-19.
Sindh with 220,501 overall COVID-19 cases remains the worst-hit province by the pandemic in terms of cases followed by Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan. Punjab has overtaken Sindh in most number of casualties.
So far 220,501 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Sindh, 142,058 in Punjab 59,955 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 38,531 in Islamabad, 18,280 in Balochistan, 8,396 in Azad Kashmir and 4,873 in Gilgit-Baltistan.
Nationwide tally of fatalities remains 10,461 out of that 4,184 individuals have lost their lives to the epidemic in Punjab 3,634 in Sindh, 1,695 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 432 in Islamabad, 229 in Azad Kashmir, 186 in Balochistan, and 101 in Gilgit Baltistan.
Pakistan has so far conducted 6,923,857 coronavirus tests and 38,917 in the last 24 hours. 448,393 coronavirus patients have recovered in the country whereas 2,243 patients are in critical condition.
