Coronavirus pandemic kills 32, 1,541 tested positive during last 24 hours

ISLAMABAD: Coronavirus epidemic during its second wave continued claiming more lives as during last 24 hours 32 more people lost their lives and 1,541 people were tested positive to virus.

During last 24 hours 32 new deaths were reported to COVID-19 in Pakistan and 1,541 more people were tested positive to the virus round the Pakistan on Friday.

Nationwide infections toll reported on Friday was 1,541 to coronavirus epidemic besides 32 more deaths were confirmed. With 1,541 new infections reported in the country that took the toll to 577,482 cases and with 32 new deaths the toll of fatalities jumped to 12,804.

According to the latest figures displayed on National Coronavirus Dashboard of the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC), the NCOC confirmed the death of 32 more people during last 24 hours besides reported that 1,541 persons tested positive for COVID-19.

Sindh with 257,408 overall COVID-19 cases remains the worst-hit province by the pandemic in terms of cases followed by Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan. Punjab has overtaken Sindh in most number of casualties.

So far across the country 57,408 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Sindh, 170,222 in Punjab, 71,728 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 19,035 in Balochistan, 44,032 in Islamabad, 10,101 in Azad Kashmir and 4,956 in Gilgit-Baltistan.

Nationwide tally of fatalities remains 12,804 out of that 5,323 individuals have lost their lives to the epidemic in Punjab, 4,322 in Sindh, 2,065 in hyber Pakhtunkhwa, 200 in Balochistan, 496 in Islamabad, 296 in Azad Kashmir and 102 in Gilgit Baltistan.

Pakistan has so far conducted 8,873,741 coronavirus tests and 41,849 in the last 24 hours. 542,393 coronavirus patients have recovered in the country whereas 1,558 patients are in critical condition.
