ISLAMABAD: Coronavirus epidemic during its second wave continued the killing spree in Pakistan and during last 24 hours the virus claimed 50 more lives and 1,196 people were tested positive to virus.
During last 24 hours 50 more people have lost their lives to COVID-19 and 1,196 more people were tested positive to the virus round the Pakistan on Wednesday.
Nationwide infections toll reported on Wednesday was 1,196 to coronavirus epidemic besides 50 more deaths were confirmed. With 1,196 new infections reported in the country that took the toll to 574,580 cases and with 50 new deaths the toll of fatalities jumped to 12,708.
According to the latest figures displayed on National Coronavirus Dashboard of the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC), the NCOC confirmed the death of 50 more people during last 24 hours besides reported that 1,196 persons tested positive for COVID-19.
Sindh with 256,741 overall COVID-19 cases remains the worst-hit province by the pandemic in terms of cases followed by Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan. Punjab has overtaken Sindh in most number of casualties.
So far across the country 256,741 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Sindh, 168,891 in Punjab, 71,282 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 19,004 in Balochistan, 43,753 in Islamabad, 9,955 in Azad Kashmir and 4,954 in Gilgit-Baltistan.
Nationwide tally of fatalities remains 12,708 out of that 5,269 individuals have lost their lives to the epidemic in Punjab, 4,301 in Sindh, 2,050 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 199 in Balochistan, 494 in Islamabad, 293 in Azad Kashmir and 102 in Gilgit Baltistan.
Pakistan has so far conducted 8,790,986 coronavirus tests and 38,453 in the last 24 hours. 538,207 coronavirus patients have recovered in the country whereas 1,632 patients are in critical condition.
