Coronavirus Second Wave: 59 new deaths reported while 1,947 people tested positive

ISLAMABAD: Coronavirus second wave has turned worst as the National Instutitute of Health (NIH) has confirmed two positive patients of New Coronavirus Variant and more are expected.
COVID-19 Variant infected cases were reported in Karachi among people coming from Britain. Coronavirus pandemic has claimed 59 more lives round the country besides 1,947 people were tested positive during last 24 hours.
1,947 new coronavirus epidemic infections were reported in last 24 hours and 59 new deaths have been confirmed. With 1,947 new infections reported in the country the toll surged to 490,476 cases and with 59 more deaths the toll of fatalities jumped to 10,409 deaths on Tuesday.
According to the latest figures displayed on National Coronavirus Dashboard of the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC), the NCOC on Tuesday confirmed the death of 59 more people during last 24 hours besies reported that 1,947 persons tested positive for  COVID-19.
Sindh with 219,452 overall COVID-19 cases remains the worst-hit province by the pandemic in terms of cases followed by Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan. Punjab has overtaken Sindh in most number of casualties.
So far 219,452 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Sindh, 141,393 in Punjab 59,729 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 38,395 in Islamabad, 18,254 in Balochistan, 8,383 in Azad Kashmir and 4,870 in Gilgit-Baltistan.
Nationwide tally of fatalities remains 10,409 out of that 4,160 individuals have lost their lives to the epidemic in Punjab 3,623 in Sindh, 1,683 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 428 in Islamabad, 229 in Azad Kashmir, 185 in Balochistan, and 101 in Gilgit Baltistan.
Pakistan has so far conducted 6,884,940 coronavirus tests and 35,073 in the last 24 hours. 444,360 coronavirus patients have recovered in the country whereas 2,219 patients are in critical condition.
NCOC regarding Punjab province are as after sharp increase in the cases, the number of patients swelled to 141,393 in the province. The province reported 4,160 coronavirus causalities.
For Sindh; cases of infection have surged to 219,452 in the province, the most affected region in Pakistan. The death toll has reached to 3,623 in the province.
For Khyber Pakhtunkhwa; confirmed cases have surged to 59,729 in the province while the death toll has surged to 1,683 in KPK.
For Balochistan; there are 18,254 confirmed cases while 185 patients died of the infection so far.
For AJK and Gilgit-Baltistan; there are 8,383 coronavirus cases in the AJK while the death toll has reached 229. On the other hand, there are 4,870 cases in GB with 101 coronavirus deaths.
For Islamabad; there are 38,395 cases in the capital city while 428 people have lost their lives.
